Planning

Mood Board

Planning floor plan
what I have done to help plan my shoot is create a sort of floor plan with the camera positioning listed and the reason why they have been put in the positions designated.
Reasons for camera placements

In this section of this page I will give my reasons for each of the camera placements on my floor plan of my multi camera shoot.

Cam 1: The plan for cam 1 is to give the audience a shot of all the cast at the table involved on this project the wide shot will be also you used to be the first shot straight after the intro sequence I will produce as well, to get this shot I will use a wide shot on this camera for the entirety of this shoot.

Cam 2: This camera will provide a close up shot on the cast located on the right side of the table, and will continue to switch between all cameras on set and as the videocast goes on the cameras will provide all the views the audience needs to stay interested.

Cam 3: this is gonna hold the same shot as cam 2 as it will help provide the other half of the shots in this project to give the audience what they need to stay interested.

The reason for this setup with the table is to help with the simplicity of the project but to also show of some technical prowess with the recording set up and the way I plan to record all the audio from each cast member.

Audio Plan

What I plan to record my audio is to use a combination of lapel mic and a mic setup called one legged setup(The use of the mic on the Panasonic cameras and a shotgun mic that is attached to all the cameras) as backup just in case the lapels fail.

The reason I'm using the lapels as my primary recording equipment as they record their separate channels as well as easier to put the audio together in post and if I have to adjust the audio at all it gives me the ability to isolate the audio channel that needs amending.

Lighting

The way I would like the lighting to be is warm and comforting to make the audience feel like they're just having a conversation with a cup of tea hoping to make the audience relaxed and comfortable, that's why on my mood board I have.

Multi cam treatment

initial opening

opening sequence plays music and sounds of laughter echo quietly during the intro and opens up cam 1 on legs on second extension of legs high up looking down on the lads at the table.

Opens up on the set with a warm yellow/orange light (3000K) making the audience feel like they're at the table with the guys.

Wide shot cam 1 slowly tilting down to the table and lads shot in the centre of frame.

Cuts

To cam 2 close up on the 2 people on the right side of the table as everyone introduces themselves to the audience

change

To cam 3 which is also on closer up on the left side of the table.

changes

Returns to cam 1 still on the wide shot as conversation starts.

During the video-cast the shots will continuously switch between cams 1,2 and 3 as the shots shown will switch to the Side speaking so the audience feel involved in the conversation.

The storyboard displayed here shows the opening minuets of the video-cast showing what shots the opening is going to contain and they will stay this way during the rest of the show as it provides the audience a view of the entire set and give the audience the more important shots for this production so they know whats going on most of the time.

Setting

The lighting for this production would be around 8000 kelvin to produce a warm pale yellow to help the audience feel like their hanging out with her friends and having a laugh.

The set will be in a medium sized room with no ambient noise such as heaters or AC it would be either 1 to 2 tables which will have a black table cloth covering the table top, the top of the table would be decorated with items of the hosts interest such as xbox controllers or pop figures to help fit with the theme of the podcast.
The podcast will focus around high end clothes(supreme), games and films as well as a few life stories thrown in to help keep the audience interested.

Equipment

The equipment setup I have seen being used by most popular podcasts such as the misfits podcast which use a headphone a mic setup with each mic ending up connecting to a single audio mixer which is what I plan to do but in case this system fails I will also use one legged audio recording system which includes a shotgun mic on the Panasonic cameras
